Hello, I am back and today we’re going to be talking about another achieving microbrewery in Burton Upon Trent.
This brewery is situated in the centre of Burton in a small industrial estate just off Hawkins Lane.
The brewery first started producing perfect quality ale from April 2015.
According to facts this is the newest and latest microbrewery which is in Burton and they do have a fantastic vision towards the people of Burton.
The main vision of the establishment is to create a fine range of traditional ales in bottled and cask forms.
The beers are also suited to specific categories of people e.g. (Sports and Politics)
I have visited this brewery many times to have a pint and in all honesty the atmosphere inside is amazing, I mean when I went you can have a drink and you can specifically watch the brewers either bottling the beer up or brewing the beer, I am not going to lie but I think that is something you have got to go and witness.
As of 2018 the owner of Burton Town Brewery is Steve Haynes, I have met this fantastic guy before and we have always enjoyed our conversations together about different specific beers, he is a really enjoyable guy to talk to.
Now, let me show you the scale of this brewery so that you can see for yourselves of how fantastic this place looks!
As you can see from the picture above, you’re probably thinking it looks like a massive car workshop.
However, the place sets a purpose, the seats inside are barrels with wooden planks screwed on the top.
The bottom end of the room is where all the bottling takes place and then on the left hand side is where all the brewing takes place.
On the wall is a beautiful painting which is essentially a map which shows all the different microbreweries and main logistic breweries around Burton Upon Trent. Every time I have been in and looked at the map I’ve always said to myself I want to go there and there (I will find the time one day).
Simple bottling
Unlike most breweries which actually use machinery to do there bottling, Burton Town Brewery go down a simple step which is to take the beer from the cask and draw it off using a a piece of pipe which has a splitter on the end so the bottles can be filled.
Simple, unique and it’s brilliant!
On a financial side of things this way of bottling is cost effective as the company have saved thousands of pounds, this mean no machinery is needed to do the bottling.
What else can I tell you about this wonderful brewery?
It’s not just a brewery, like I said earlier I have been here before for a couple of pints, so the premises does have its own bar which predominately only provide there own beers on tap.
In the main hall bit off the business, the brewery has down many social events such as e.g. (Tribute nights, Quiz nights and Comedy nights).
The bar is also a hotspot for Football fans who travel down Hawkins Lane to stop off at the brewery for a quick pint and then make there way to Burton Albion Football Stadium.
The final bit I am going to tell you about in this blog is the Beer!
Burton Town Brewery Beers
According to Burton Town Brewery website these are the regular beers that are available.
Albion – 3.9% ABV – Burton Albion Football Club Traditional Championship Pale Ale.
Modwena Oatmeal Stout – 4.8% ABV – This beer is my favourite down to the fantastic chocolatey tastes it provides.
Brexit Beer 4.0% ABV – This traditional ale was created for the Brexit situation which the country and the EU have had to deal with over the past couple of years. Why not support Brexit and try this fantastic beer.
These are some of the beers that are available from the brewery, however there is more but they’re not available at this moment in time, so when the beers do come back in stock I’ll do another post for this brewery.
By the way there is a lot!
I’ll show you a picture so you can see the scale.
I am going to end this post now, but I just want to say I really do hope you can get the chance to come down to this brewery because they do produce some outstanding quality cask ales.
The brewery has got many potential projects in the pipeline so by all means please do keep a checkout on there website for further details.
Thank You
I really hope you enjoy reading this post, and if you have any questions about this brewery I’ll happily assist in answering them.
Take Care!
I know you’re probably missing the pub due to the current circumstances of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) but we all need to stay safe and remain positive.
Stay At Home!
