Yes, I’m going to admit, I’ve decided to focus on two more beers from my hometown, Burton Upon Trent and you’re probably wondering, why?, my answer is simple, I haven’t actually reviewed any beers from this microbrewery based in the town, so I decided now was the time!
To be fair, if it wasn’t for Brews Of The World, I wouldn’t have had the chance to try these two beers from such an awesome microbrewery that has loads of history.
It’s Friday! Another week is done and dusted and we’re into the last few days of February, I always particularly find February to always go quick, just because of how short it is. Although, I have to admit I’ve tried some amazing beers over the course of the month.
Modwena Oatmeal Stout, Thomas Sykes Old Ale and Crumble In The Bronx have certainly been placed at the top of the list for my favourite beers of February!
Sour beers, you are probably thinking (Yuck), why the hell would you want to drink a beer that tastes sour. In general, if you went into a bar and purchased a pint of cask ale, then you started drinking it and it tasted sour, more than likely you’ll reappear back up to the bar and say ‘the beers off’.
The fact is, sour beers are never found in Cask Ales, but on the other hand, many craft beers are produced in a sour way, the next question you are probably wondering is why. Well, in the history section you will find out!

I have to admit, I am truly looking forward to bringing you this post today, the reason being this is the first time I’ve ever sampled a Barley Wine before.
Good morning to you all, how are you all keeping through lockdown 3! It honestly feels a very long time since I last went to a pub for a pint of beer, I have to admit I am missing going out for a beer and a bite to eat, let’s hope it won’t be too long until we reach some sort of normality.

Hello to you all, I hope you’ve all had a fantastic week, it’s crazy to think we’re halfway through February already, it’s unreal to think it will be March in a couple of weeks, springtime is approaching and the longer days will start to take place.
I’m looking forward to this weekend, it’s Valentines Day on Sunday, myself and Isobel have agreed to do a virtual film date with each other, we’ve both decided we’re going to carry on watching Harry Potter. It may be slightly different, but we’ve got to stay safe, but I am really looking forward to it!
In my previous post, I talked about a marvellous beer which is brewed by a fantastic microbrewery (Burton Town Brewery), Modwena Oatmeal Stout (4.8% ABV) is a classical stout which has beautiful flavours of roasted malt and chocolate, it’s an amazing beer and certainly a stout I highly recommend!
Good morning to you all, I really hope you are all having a fantastic week so far, my week has been absolutely fantastic so far, I’ve been doing daily walks around my local park, I’ve set myself my own personal goal and in fairness, I am achieving it so far which I’m really proud of.
Secondly, the weekend just gone, I reached my first milestone on Instagram of reaching 500 followers, I am totally over the moon and really happy that everyone is enjoying my daily content, I personally want to say a massive thank you to all of you for your support, I really appreciate it! My next goal is to aim for 1’000 followers and they may be a potential gift up for grabs!

In this weeks topic, I have produced two beer review posts brought to you from The Leatherbritches Brewery, in my previous post I did a write-up on one of the most astonishing best bitters that I have ever sampled and that beer was called Ashbourne Ale!
I briefly mentioned how the brewery named this iconic beer after the gorgeous market town based in the Derbyshire Dales which is an area surrounded by natural beauty.
January, it certainly did feel like a very long month, I am thankful that the first month of 2021 is over and I am now looking forward to seeing what February has to bring.
In brief, this is what I am hoping to achieve throughout the shortest month of the year!
Firstly, I am deeply excited and looking forward to sampling some more wonderful beers and whiskies, especially a selected handful that I’ve never tasted before, in my mind, it’s all about experimenting new flavours through the palate.
Secondly, to help and boost The Cask Connoisseur, I am going to be running a selection of adverts on my social media platforms, the reason for this is because I want to get my name out into the world, I want bloggers and people to know why I am passionate about The UK’s Brewing and Whisky Industry.
In my previous post, I brought you all an in-depth review of an amazing beer called Masterpiece IPA, which is proudly brewed by The Heritage Brewing Company.
Throughout my post, I mentioned how this flagship beer had a connecting link with one of Burton’s Brewing Heritage icons, Worthington Whiteshield.
Furthermore, I introduced you all to Brews Of The World which is one of the finest beer shops that you could ever come across, I also explained how this shop stocks some of the most beautiful beers from around the UK and many parts of the world.
Burton Upon Trent, my hometown, the place where the magic happens, a town where the air smells of malted barley, a famous location where beer is brewed, this is Burton the Brewing Capital Of The World!
Beer is so big in Burton, we are so proud to have some of the finest microbreweries in the country which play there part to deliver Burton’s Brewing Heritage!
When you’re out and about, any of the pubs that you venture into will always be packed full of locals drinking there favourite locally brewed beer, whether it’s Bass, Pedigree, Burton Bridge Bitter, you name it anything, the locals love to drink something which is close to their heart and town!
It’s the weekend! That’s another week done and dusted and we are now coming towards the end of January.
