Highland distillery Glengoyne Distillery has announced the launch of its latest expression, Glengoyne Signature, a flavour-forward single malt designed with approachability and everyday enjoyment in mind.
Landing exclusively in Tesco stores across Scotland from 20th April 2026, the new release marks a slightly different direction for the traditionally “unhurried” distillery, known for its slow distillation and rich, fruit-led character.

A Fresh Take on Glengoyne’s House Style
Bottled at 40% ABV, Glengoyne Signature is a non-age statement whisky that leans heavily into bright, accessible flavours. Expect crisp green apple up front, followed by smooth vanilla sweetness, with supporting notes of pear and plum adding depth.
It’s a profile that feels intentionally modern and easygoing, clearly aimed at those either new to single malt or looking for a reliable, everyday dram without sacrificing quality.
Designed for Spring Sipping (and Mixing)
Unlike many traditional Highland malts, Glengoyne Signature has been positioned as a versatile option for cocktails as well as neat sipping.
Two simple serves have been highlighted for launch:
- Glengoyne Highball – A refreshing mix of Signature whisky topped with sparkling apple soda and finished with a slice of apple
- Glengoyne Old Fashioned – A slightly sweeter twist on the classic, combining maple syrup with Angostura bitters and orange peel
The emphasis here is clear: this is a whisky built for relaxed, seasonal drinking, particularly as we move into spring and summer.

Eye-Catching and Environmentally Conscious
Presentation-wise, Glengoyne has opted for a contemporary apple-green box, reflecting both the whisky’s flavour profile and its connection to the natural surroundings of the distillery.
Sustainability is also part of the story, with 100% recyclable and locally sourced packaging, reinforcing the brand’s ongoing focus on environmental responsibility and biodiversity.
Strong Value for a Recognisable Name
With a recommended retail price of £35, Glengoyne Signature sits comfortably in the mid-range category. However, an introductory Tesco Clubcard offer of £24 (21 April – 15 June 2026) makes it particularly compelling.
For a distillery with Glengoyne’s reputation, that price point could turn a few heads, especially among those who may not usually reach for single malt.
Alongside the new release, shoppers can also find staples like the Glengoyne 10 Year Old, offering a more traditional entry point into the distillery’s range.
The Bigger Picture
Owned by Ian Macleod Distillers, Glengoyne sits within a portfolio that includes names like Tamdhu, Smokehead, and Edinburgh Gin. Despite this broader portfolio, Glengoyne has always retained a distinct identity, rooted in patience, craftsmanship, and a uniquely fruity spirit character.
With Signature, the distillery appears to be balancing that heritage with a more contemporary, accessible approach, potentially opening the door to a new wave of whisky drinkers.
Verdict: Glengoyne Signature feels like a smart move. It doesn’t try to compete with older, more complex expressions, but instead focuses on drinkability, versatility, and value. At the promotional price, it’s an easy recommendation, particularly for those looking to explore single malt without overthinking it.
